MKS Builders has been founded by Kris and Mateusz Stepien, skilled and experienced joiners who have been working in the construction trade for over 20 years - first in their native Poland and since 2000 in Scotland.
Trained in the artisanal tradition focused on outstanding workmanship and meticulous attention to detail, Kris has worked and managed teams on projects ranging from large housing developments to individual, fully bespoke renovations and conversions.
That is why, although a new company on the Edinburgh construction services market, MKS Builders certainly doesn’t lack experience - both at the helm, and among the skilled, experienced contractors we employ to provide top quality services to our customers.

Quality materials and supplies: we are very proud to offer solid wood products from an artisanal Polish joinery supplier, including staircases, windows, doors and furniture in ash, oak, beech and pine. We focus on quality and value for money and not false economies and cutting corners.
Can-do, intelligent attitude: if it can be done at all, we will find a way to do it that works, and we will do it well.
Responsibility: we will manage as much of your building project as you need us to, including liaising with other trades and professions and help with the red tape; while keeping you in the loop at all times.
Domestic clients: from loft conversions to extensions, renovations and bespoke new builds, MKS is ready to tackle all your building projects.
Commercial clients: whether it’s a refit, refurbishment or a new construction; an office or a retail space, we work with clients from a variety of industries to provide a reliable, quality service.
Developers: we have experience, skills and capacity to tackle larger projects.
Other construction companies: able to mobilise a number of tradesmen at a short notice, we can work as a subcontractor when you are caught short and help you avoid delays and missed deadlines.

We will respond within two working days, and arrange for a free survey and an estimate.
You will typically get your quote within three working days of the survey.
If you are happy to proceed and give us a go-ahead, we will arrange a convenient for you date for the works to commence.
We require a deposit for larger-value projects, with the balance being typically paid on completion, or in installments after completing specific stages of the project.
All our work is guaranteed for 12 months -- if something we have done needs correcting, simply get in touch and we will rectify that. This doesn’t, of course, apply to normal wear and tear.
We will also contact you after approximately three months to check if everything is in order and ask for feedback.
